In 2013, I severely injured my leg and required two surgeries. In November 2001, my wife, Robin, and I were told that our son, Jonah, who was then 8 years old, had cancer. Jonah, now 22, was cured, but Chai Lifeline stood by our side, helping both Jonah and us tremendously.

To the Editor:
On March 24, more than 300 people believed it important enough to take off from work and forgo personal and family obligations to go down to Hempstead Town Hall to let their representatives know their views on issues that impact their lives. Town Hall was filled to capacity. Yet two councilpersons, Anthony Santino and Erin King-Sweeney, who have salaries of $67,000 for their part-time jobs, which require them to appear two days per month at Town Hall, joined Supervisor Kate Murray and walked out of a crowded meeting so they could attend a photo op in Wantagh.

Traffic issues need addressing
To the Editor:
Rabbi Dr. Edward Goldstein’s letter to the editor “Waiting for H-W to fix dismissal issues” (Feb. 20-26) could not have said it better on what many also experience with “traffic difficulties” on Williams Street, between Daub and Franklin avenues near the Yeshiva of South Shore.
