All winners of PCLI’s Outstanding Journalist Award, the group’s highest individual honor, were included in the first class of Hall of Fame inductees. Brinton received the accolade in 2006. more

In response to the letter from Donald Walsh of Franklin Square (“Senator Cruz is a hero, Al,” Oct. 24-30), as an American, I cherish our democracy and rights of all to hold and express our individual views, but I am frankly shocked that the Herald would print the dangerous, inflammatory rants of Donald Walsh, including his mis-characterization of President Obama as a “Muslim Marxist.” more

Residents in communities surrounding JFK Airport know all too well the problem of jet noise. Over the decades, they have witnessed an increasing number of flights in and out of JFK. To accommodate the increase, the curfew from midnight to 6 a.m. was eliminated in the 1990s. Plane noise now occurs virtually at all hours. more
