Several Sewanhaka Central High School District student athletes participated in the Nassau County Senior Bowl held at Mitchell Field on Nov. 24, Thanksgiving morning. Elmont Memorial High School quarterback Aaron Ruthman was selected as the game’s Most Valuable Offensive Player. There were many question marks surrounding the Molloy College men’s basketball team entering this season. Head coach Charles Marquardt sought to get a better idea of what he had in his roster, which features nine underclassmen and several new faces, so he made sure not to shy away from scheduling some difficult early tests for his ballclub. more
Criminal mischief to auto ELMONT-On Gotham Avenue between 5 a.m. on Nov. 25 and 5 a.m. on Nov. 26, the steering column and dashboard panels from a man’s vehicle were stolen, causing damage, officials said. ELMONT-On Kirkman Aveue between 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 26, both of a man’s vehicles were keyed, according to police. ELMONT-On Theodora Street between 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 26 and 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 27, a woman’s vehicle was damaged, police said. Larceny-from auto FRANKLIN SQUARE-On Nov. 27 at 5:50 p.m. on Lawrence Street, the front license plates were stolen off a man’s vehicles, authorities said. more
