Customers seek relief with over-the-counter remedies to lessen flu symptoms.

On New Year’s Day, Kimler’s symptoms returned worse than ever. Experiencing severe vomiting, cold chills and a lack of appetite, Larry drove her to the emergency room at the NUMC, where she was kept overnight and given medication before being discharged the next day. She said she remained bedridden for the following two days.

Two weeks later, Kimler said she and her family have seen a great improvement in their health. “Thankfully, we are all back to work and back to feeling well and normal,” she said. “I’m thinking I will maybe stay away from stores and malls and the general public until spring.”
