I.P. schools host senior breakfast
Island Park Schools Board of Trustee members Matthew Paccione and Nina Hargrove helped served breakfast to the seniors. They are pictured here with (l to r) Frank Bua, Maurice Mayes, and Nora Mayes.

On Friday, May 3 more than 50 Island Park seniors gathered in the lunch room at Island Park Lincoln Orens Middle School for the school district’s annual Seniors Spring Breakfast. Each winter and spring, local seniors are invited to visit with students and enjoy a hot meal. Following the breakfast, the group was entertained by an ensemble form the Grade 5 and 6 Concert Band, under the direction of Mario Blanco.

“This truly is a special event for our seniors and each year we look forward to having them as our guests,” said Dr. Rosmarie Bovino, superintendent of schools. “After enduring the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy, they deserved special treatment. Our seniors are an integral part of our community and the students and staff enjoyed spending time with them.”
