Due to road conditions after Thursday's nor'easter, the Rockville Centre School District has instituted a delayed opening for Friday, Feb. 14.
The district will be open today due to minimal snowfall, but district representatives said that a delayed opening will give custodians time to clear and salt all areas and teachers time to get to school without rushing.
All buses will run exactly two hours behind schedule; that is, if your child usually gets the bus at 8:25 am, he/she should get the bus at 10:25. Long Beach High School is on the same two hour delayed opening.
However, West Hempstead High School is open without any delay. The buses for West Hempstead students will be sent at the usual time.
Parochial schools and special schools such as BOCES will also be on a two-hour delayed opening.
