“This year was great because we played with Long Beach. Now interleague. We had a record turn out for T-Ball,” said Chris Fabis about this years Island Park Little League season. The league had 175 players turn out for the April through June season, he said.
The “Amazing” 10U Blue Crush team made it to the playoffs. Their coach, Johnny Cardiello won 2016 Coach of the Year. The Pirates also had a great playoff run for the second year in a row.
In addition to playing baseball the teams also marched in the Island Park Memorial Day Parade, helped the Island Park Kiwanis Club during its annual Pancake Breakfast and enjoyed Little League Day sponsored by the Island Park Civic Association.
