The works of Faith Ringgold at Molloy College
The acclaimed African-American artist Faith Ringgold – perhaps best known for her painted story quilts – is the subject of an in-depth study at Molloy College’s Kaiser Art Gallery, in celebration of Black History Month.
The exhibit, which opens Feb. 7 and runs through Feb. 28, will focus on “Tar Beach” and “The Sunflower Quilting Bee at Arles.” It will feature Ringgold’s prints and accompanying materials relating to her life and career as an artist, author and activist.
The gallery will screen her documentary, ”Faith Ringgold: The Last Story Quilt,” on Feb. 19, at 4 p.m. Admission is free. The gallery is located in Molloy College’s Public Square.
