The American Red Cross held its annual Red and White Dinner Dance on June 4 at Carlyle on the Green in Bethpage State Park.

This year’s honorees were Ming Chiang, president of Casual Home Worldwide, Inc., and Butch Yamali, president of The Dover Group. The guest speaker was Island Park Fire Department’s Chief Anthony Esposito who described the landfall of Hurricane Sandy in Island Park, the aftermath, and the destruction.

The highly anticipated event featured a cocktail hour, dinner, entertainment, auctions and awards. Guests wore a touch of red to honor the organization. The Island Park Fire Department sent a color guard.

This annual fundraiser makes it possible for the American Red Cross on Long Island to help its neighbors when they need it most.

"I'm proud to be a part of such a great organization," said Stuart Richner, who is on the board of directors of the American Red Cross on Long Island, and a publisher at Richner Communications, one of the sponsors of the event. "The dinner dance was wonderful, as usual, and the honorees were worthy of all the accolades that were given to them."
