Two accidents snarled traffic in Island Park on July 14. Island Park Fire Chief Ed Madden reported the first was set off by two mini vans, one going south on Austin Boulevard at Emerson Place. In all four vehicles were involved in that crash, with three people being transported to area hospitals by Island Park, Oceanside and Nassau County Police ambulances.
The second accident involved two mini vans at California Place and Austin Boulevard. Three people were taken to area hospitals by Long Beach, Point Lookout and Island Park ambulances. None of the injuries were life threatening.
