For a challenging way to increase endurance, strength and to lose weight, set your sights on O’side CrossFit. You’ll become part of a unique and passionate fitness community, with a whole new exciting exercise experience.

CrossFit is considered to be “the sport of fitness.” It has become the primary strength and conditioning program used by many police academies, fire fighters, and military units. O’side CrossFit is not like your typical “Globo gym,” a term coined by CrossFit aficionados. A CrossFit facility is referred to as a “Box.”

The O’side CrossFit Box is a newly renovated warehouse that was converted into an aesthetically pleasing workout facility. Unlike most Globo gyms, a Box does not include weight machines or treadmills. As with most pure CrossFit Boxes, O’side CrossFit houses rowing machines, Olympic lifting stations, a 30-foot pull-up bar station, a 25-foot wall ball area, gymnastic rings and heavy climbing ropes.

An affiliate of CrossFit (the company), O’side CrossFit/Mad Dog Fitness is owned and operated by Hank and Annette Berger and their son, Ian.

Ian Berger, who is a certified Level 1 CrossFit Trainer, is the voice behind the WOD – the Workout of the Day. According to Ian, a CrossFit workout can be customized for any male or female who wants to strive to be in the best possible shape: the elderly, the elite athlete, and anyone in between.

As in the Olympics, CrossFit games are held yearly, sponsored by national companies like Gatorade and Nike, where only the fittest men and women in the world compete. Ian is also an aspiring CrossFit athlete, training to compete in these games.

The O’side CrossFit community is made up of all levels of fitness and age groups: from students to homemakers to executives. Workouts are done in a small class (2-8 people) setting, for a maximum amount of reps in a pre-set time.
