D’Amato’s bashing helps no one

To the Editor:

I agree fully with Bernie Kilkelly ("D'Amato is all too predictable," July 22-28). Shame on you, Herald.

These biased remarks from Al D’Amato are a regular thing with him. The first thing I do is see who he is bashing from the Democrats.

The man is from the party that is responsible for the highest taxes in the country. I have lived in Nassau for 45 years and had a relative who couldn’t get a promotion unless he gave 5 percent of his salary, and this was in Mr. D’Amato’s period. Only after he gave in to the extortion did he get the promotion, and he ended his tenure with one of the most elite positions in Nassau County.

D’Amato should look as issues and prepare constructive proposals rather than party-bash.
