Last week, the Oceanside School District, partnering with Oceanside Community Service, held its annual Turkey Shoot.
The Turkey Shoot feeds needy Oceanside families for Thanksgiving. Through donations to OCS and the school district, food is collected to not only give families a Thanksgiving meal, but also food for four days after.
This year, OCS was feeding 185 families. More than 100 turkeys were donated to the group, and hundreds of pounds of food were collected.
More food will be collected through the month of December as OCS gears up to feed families for the holidays.
