Members of the Island Park Chamber of Commerce were briefed on plans for the upcoming year by newly sworn in President Glenn Ingoglia. Along with new Vice President Michael Scully members were told the Chamber is going to reach out to other local organizations, to support them and work as a whole.

Ingoglia said they plan to continue events that have been popular in the past, the summer calypso barbeque, the Halloween business trick or treat, and the installation dinner dance in the fall, plus new events are planned.

“The Chamber used to be involved with the community as well as supporting businesses, but then Sandy came along and we changed our focus,” Ingoglia said, “Now I want to go back to the way things were, have a different focus, that will benefit the entire Island Park community.”

In addition to Ingoglia and Scully, John Cestaro has moved into the Secretary position and Jan Rothman is Treasurer.
