Island Park Board of Education saluted

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo designated the last week of October School Board Recognition Week. This annual event recognizes school board members throughout New York State for volunteering their time and energies to serve on their local school boards. At the October Board of Education meeting, the Island Park Board of Education was saluted by the Island Park Administrators Association, Island Park Faculty Association, Island Park Secretaries Association, PTA, and the students at both Francis X. Hegarty School and Lincoln Orens Middle School. As a special tribute, these organizations made contributions to the school libraries and student scholarship funds, and planted trees and annual flowers on behalf of the Board of Education.
