Overcast Marching through Island Park

Firefighters from Nassau County’s Second Battalion marched through Island Park last Saturday in the battalion’s annual parade. Members of all of the unit’s departments — including Oceanside and Island Park — participated, and the parade was followed by a block party at Masone Beach, which featured a barbecue and a show by The Mystic.

Before the heavy rains came, people lined the streets of Island Park to watch the Second Fire Battalion Parade on Aug. 13.
The fire departments from Island Park, Oceanside, Long Beach, Baldwin, Freeport and Point Lookout-Lido marched through the streets of Island Park with their bands and trucks.
The parade concluded with a party at Masone Beach.
