Police are searching for a man who walked into an Oceanside bank and passed a note to a teller demanding money.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 26 at 12:30 p.m., at the Roslyn Savings Bank at 3140 Long Beach Rd. Detectives said that the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money, after handing a note to a bank teller. He fled and headed west on Perkins Avenue, police said.

A detective at the scene said no one was injured and that the suspect did not have a gun. It is not, the detective said, related to other recent robberies in Oceanside, including two armed robberies at a tanning salon and day spa on Long Beach Road in the past two weeks.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, five feet five inches tall, with a medium build. He wore a blue and white checkered long sleeve shirt, a dark baseball cap, dark baggy pants and sunglasses.

Detectives request anyone with information about the crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
