On the runway for Dawn Delirium

The 20th Annual Dawn Delirium Fashion Show was held in the Oceanside High School cafeteria on March 30, and it was a rousing success.

The students — many of whom are younger than the event itself — modeled various prom tuxedos and dresses up and down the runway to raise funds for Dawn Delirium, the school’s post-prom party.

Decades-strong, Dawn Delirium helps keep Oceanside kids safe after prom by giving them a supervised place to party until the wee hours of the morning. In addition to a safe environment, students who attend are able to win prizes, ranging from TVs and dorm room supplies to the grand prize — a new car.

This year, 100 students modeled, making it one of the most successful fashion shows. The event also raised $7,901 for Dawn Delirium — more than last year.

As the only major fundraiser for Dawn Delirium during the year, the fashion show is an important event for organizers, and the success of this year’s fashion show bodes well for Dawn Delirium in June.
