For the past 17 years, Woodmere Lanes Owner Nick Paxinos has been preparing and delivering Thanksgiving meals to St. Boniface Parish in Elmont and the First Baptist Church in Far Rockaway, but this year he’s also planning to serve those who are displaced by Hurricane Sandy. more

The Tritt Elementary School student council raised more than $5,000 from student donations. An anonymous donor agreed to match that amount and the Pope High Student Council and Key Club added another $800, bringing total donations to $12,208.
