A car crash on the Southern State Parkway in North Merrick killed the car’s driver and injured the vehicle’s four other occupants on Monday. The car, a white 1996 Toyota 4Runner, was traveling east on the Southern State between exits 24 and 25 at 4:30 a.m. when it went off the roadway and overturned. more

Two people were killed and three critically injured when a car overturned and slammed into a wooded area off the Southern State Parkway, near the Meadowbrook Parkway, in North Merrick. more
After the crash, emergency medical technicians moved the children from one bus to another in order to transport them to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. Because the children could not speak, officials said, they had to go to the hospital.
