This month we marked the 10th anniversary of 9/11. During and after the attacks, thousands of police and fire personnel responded to the scene regardless of whether they were working or not. They responded because that’s what we are all about. Our job is to help those in need.

Members with the Wounded Warrior Project held their annual picnic in Eisenhower Park on Sept. 21.
A local ambassador for the organization, Paul Hastings, accepted a $15,000 donation from the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association. “It was an awesome turnout,” said Hastings, “and it was a more than generous donation from the PBA.”
