His decision was a response to the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., by a police officer the previous August.

A man who was wandering around and got stuck in the storm drains under Valley Stream was rescued this morning by a task force of over 100 responders from the Nassau County Police, several fire departments and EMS personnel. Emergency responders said they believe the man is homeless and may suffer from mental illness.
