Students at Our Lady of Peace School are decking the halls with two trees of “Christmas love” this holiday season. Instead of decorative ornaments, they are hanging donated items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste and cough drops to spread some Christmas cheer to the homeless.

The Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores hosted its 14th annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Extravaganza last Friday. Hundreds of local folks stopped by Bellmore Village to watch the tree lighting and take horse-and-carriage rides. The chill in the air only lent to the holiday spirit as those in attendance kept warm with hot chocolate.
