Life’s WORC recently held its first walk-a-thon. By all counts, the “Building for Their Tomorrow” Walk was a success. Held at Eisenhower PNY, the event drew an amiable crowd of walkers all ready to do their part to help raise awareness and funds in support of Life’s WORC and its mission on behalf of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Scrambling for eggs in East Rockaway

East Rockaway Recreation hosted its annual Easter Egg Hunt last Saturday — and even the wind and a little cold air couldn’t keep away the local children — or the Easter Bunny, who showed up to greet the crowd. Eggs were scattered around the John Street Complex starting at 10 a.m. as children scramled to collect them — many hoping to find the coveted Golden Egg (for a special prize.) Every child went home with a bag of goodies (put together by members of Life’s Worc in East Rockaway) and with a smile on their collective faces. Happy Easter! more
