High school students are happier in their middle school classrooms, since their desks were brought in from the high school.

Crowded conditions and new rules are part of the Lawrence School District’s three-week-old relocation plan, under which high school students were moved to the middle school, sixth-graders to the Number Two School and fifth-graders to the Number Five School. Concern and confusion were the most common reactions during the first week of a district-wide relocation after Lawrence High School closed on Jan. 16 due to damage to its electrical system caused by Hurricane Sandy. Lawrence High School closes for repair

Hurricane Sandy continues to have serious impacts on the Five Towns. Lawrence High School must close for the next eight weeks to repair its electrical system that was severely damaged by the Oct. 29th storm. Approximately 975 students will be attending the district’s middle school during that time, causing other students in the district to be displaced as well. more
