A 27-year-old man survived being stabbed a dozen times at a home on Jedwood Place in Valley Stream on Monday night, and police have three men in custody who they said carried out the attack.

According to Nassau County police, the victim entered the former residence of his girlfriend, at 100 Jedwood Pl., to pick up clothes for her, Newsday reported. Inside, the man was confronted by three men who punched and kicked him and struck him in the head with a black handgun, police said.

The victim was handcuffed, placed in a bathtub and stabbed repeatedly with a steak knife, according to police. He was then taken from the bathtub, put in a vehicle and driven to Midvale Lane, where he was left. The suspects fled and the victim walked to Franklin Hospital. He is being treated for his injuries.

Police arrested three men: Johnathan Faneytt, 21, who lives at the home; Jesus V. Maldonado, 22, of West Hempstead; and Jorge Freire-Romero, 19, of North Montgomery Street, Valley Stream. The men were arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Acting Police Commissioner Thomas Krumpter said the victim is a member of the Bloods street gang and the suspects are members of the Latin Kings, though he said the motive for the attack was not known.

Faneytt was charged with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree kidnapping, criminal possession of a firearm, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and unrelated warrant charges.

Maldonado was charged with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree kidnapping, criminal possession of a firearm, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon.
