There was a contagious excitement in the air at Rolling River Camp in East Rockaway on July 10 as campers eagerly awaited for the Camplified summer concert series featuring Trevor Jackson to begin.

Camplified is a unique program where campers are able to cheer on the latest and greatest talent in their own hometown.

Rolling River director Marissa Goodman described the Camplified experience as unbelievable and an incredible experience for [the camps] 20th anniversary.

“They’ve been so respectful and interactive with the campers. We couldn’t ask for more!”

Camplified founder Aimee Berger, who attended sports camp herself as a child, said that she wants to give children the V.I.P. treatment where they can experience a concert and get that tangible, memorable moment with music.

“It’s truly is a labor of love,” she said. “It’s about developing relationships, building up others, and keeping up with the ever changing music industry.”

The most exciting part of the day for many, was meeting rising star Trevor Jackson. Famous for his role in the Disney Channel movie, “Let it Shine,” Trevor was all smiles as he played volleyball with the boys, cooled off with campers during a water war, did flips, and broke records on the slip n’ slide — and all before his incredible crowd pleasing performance!

Also appearing was print, theater and television artist Karlee Roberts, who performed and signed autographs for the campers.

Ten-year-old Camper Evan Waxman described Jackson as “popular and nice, and hangs out with us! I want to get his autograph.”

“I like it. It’s fun!” said 10-year-old Aniyah Granger, when asked how she felt about Trevor’s visit. “I love his personality. I loved ‘Let It Shine’ — I watched it five times!”
