Dr. Stanley J. Berke, a long-time Rockville Centre resident who practiced in Lynbrook for 25 years, has opened a new eye care facility in Westbury. Berke held a “meet and greet” on May 10 to get acquainted with the other businesses and professionals in the building.

“It’s wonderful, I love it,” Berke said of his new offices. “It’s a great building, a great location, and very patient friendly.” He added that he was very involved in the design phase of the office, and is pleased with the layout and the “flow” of the space. “I tried to make it a pleasant place, different from your typical doctor’s office,” he said. “It’s like coming to a spa, or a museum, or an art gallery.”

Berke said that his family and friends had a hand in decorating with their ideas, artwork and photography.

The new office also includes state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and the latest technology available. He cares for several thousand patients, but welcomes new clients as well. His surgeries are still performed out of Island Eye Surgicenter in Carle Place.

Having trained at Harvard Medical School, Berke is an associate clinical professor of ophthalmology at Hofstra, North Shore and the LIJ School of Medicine. He has been practicing eye care in Nassau County for more than 25 years. He specializes in lens implantation, laser cataract surgery and the treatment of glaucoma. He has been listed as “Best Doctor” in New York Magazine, Newsday and Castle & Connelly Guide.

His new state-of-the-art location is at 1600 Stewart Ave., Suite 306 in Westbury, at the corner of Stewart and Merrick avenues, directly across from Eisenhower Park. For more information, visit www.BerkeEyeCare.com
