A high speed car chase on Lido Boulevard late Saturday night led to the arrest of three Queens residents after Nassau County police officers discovered a cache of drugs in the vehicle, including Oxycodone and cocaine.

According to Fourth Squad detectives, the incident occurred on Saturday at 11:08 p.m., when Long Beach police officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop of a gray 2009 Infiniti.

Nassau County police said that the operator of the vehicle sped away, and that’s when Fourth Precinct police officers observed the vehicle heading eastbound on Lido Boulevard, driving erratically and at a high rate of speed, in excess of 100 miles per hour.

The operator of the vehicle then turned northbound onto the Loop Parkway passing a steady red light and continuing at a high rate of speed, police said.

Detectives said that police observed the driver weaving in and out of traffic, which was stopped for the opening of the drawbridge. The vehicle then crossed the median, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes. But the driver hit a dead end, and ultimately came to a stop at the open bridge, where they were arrested by police and hit with a slew of drug and other charges.

Detectives said that the subsequent investigation led to the discovery of 37 blue pills in the console of the vehicle, believed to be Oxycodone, as well as the discovery of cocaine and marijuana in an open knapsack. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Maryland.

The operator of the vehicle, 25-year-old Tariq Qazi, of Elmhurst, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, DWAI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving and 19 vehicle and traffic violations.

Malissa Chester, 22, of Jamaica, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana.
