At the Kiwanis Club’s Seder, David Vinces, standing, spoke about celebrating the holidays with his family. Sitting from left was Dr. Fred Seltzer, center, the club’s president, and Rabbi Steven Graber.

With their usual venue Woodro's closed due to a move and renovations, the Kiwanis Club of the Five Towns held its 25th model Passover Seder at George Martin restaurant in Rockville Centre on April 3.

Rabbi Steven Graber, the spiritual leader of Temple Hillel in North Woodmere, presided over the holiday meal and read from the Haggadah, the book that includes prayers, blessing and songs.

The eight days of Passover commemorates the ancient Jews emancipation from slavery in Egypt. It is celebrated with Seders on the first two nights and the last two of the holiday.

Kiwanis members also donated $400 to Temple Hillel’s Rabbi Morris Friedman Scholarship Fund.
