The North and Central Merrick Civic Association threw its annual Spring Eggstravaganza on April 12 at Fraser Park in North Merrick. Merrick families with young children flocked to the park at 11 a.m., finding a Wonka-like field of multi-colored eggs. The children carried out Easter tradition by collecting basketfuls of the eggs. The fun continued with a “matzos beach ball toss” in celebration of Passover, arts and crafts activities and a visit from the Easter Bunny. The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1282, Printing Emporium and Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg also co-sponsored the event.
