The rain didn't keep voters in Oceanside and Island Park away from the polls yesterday.

In Oceanside, the school budget passed, 1,808 to 896. The library budget also passed with similar numbers — 1,787 to 753.

Incumbent Kim Grim Garrity swept the election, defeating her challenger Henry Luft by a more than three-to-one margin: 1,854 votes to Luft's 545. Seth Blau, who was running unopposed to fill Allenby Lyson's seat, earned 1,431 votes.

In Island Park, both the school and library budgets also passed. The school budget passed 648 to 363 and the library budget passed 682 to 309.

Matthew Paccione defeated Tara Byrne for Steven Foster's seat, 736 to 428.
