Police: Man robbed deli at gunpoint

Police are searching for a male suspect who they say robbed the Route 24 Deli on 1820 Hempstead Turnpike at gunpoint at midnight on Friday.

According to Nassau County police, the man, described as approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 150 lbs., and wearing a mask, entered the delicatessen armed with a handgun. He allegedly approached the male clerk and demanded money, and the clerk complied. The man fled the deli on foot heading east.

No customers were in the store at the time, police said, and one other employee was present. No injuries were reported.
