The goal of her photography is to connect to the simplicity, clarity, form and beauty of this everyday world.

Lane lives in Rockville Centre with her two sons. She is a founder and principle of The Portage Group, a personal and professional coaching partnership. A certified creativity coach, Lane works with artists to realize their own creative vision. She holds a B.A. in Communication Arts, an M.B.A. from the University of Edinburgh,UK and a coaching certification from New York University. Helen Kraus Community Room Gallery: Scott Steinke: “The Wings of Florida: Flying with the Birds”

During the past few years Steinke has traveled the state to document its wildlife habitats. His photographs depict Floridian wildlife ranging from the Keys to the Everglades to Sanibel Island and the Ding Darling Refuge to Merritt Island to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. The Everglades was the first site visited by the photographer to document the avian habits of herons, egrets, king rails, plovers, roseate spoonbills, American avocets, burrowing owls, pelicans (as well as miniature deer and the awesome and toothsome alligator).

Small Community Room Gallery

Artwork by Irv Abram

Abram is described as an artist who is “aware of his strengths, does not allow himself to become facile in his search for form… actually constructs a space where there is tension between control and accident, giving the works a life of their own.” While in the armed forces as an aerial navigator, he painted murals for the Air Force. During the postwar years, he studied illustration at Pratt Institute. A founding member of the Greenwich Street Gallery in Hempstead, he has shown at the Williams College Museum “Jazz in Art,” the Nassau County Museum juried art show and various New York and Long Island galleries, the National Arts Club and the Lotus Club. Abram lives and teaches in Baldwin and conducts classes in Rockville Centre and Long Beach. He celebrated his 55th anniversary of marriage to the esteemed concert pianist and professor of music, Blanche Abram.
