Molloy College’s 2011 graduation ceremony is set for May 23, at 6 p.m. at the Nassau Coliseum, and Eileen McDonnell, a Rockville Centre resident who is a 1984 graduate of the school, will be the guest speaker at Monday’s commencement ceremony.

McDonnell, who was a mathematics and computer science double major during her time at Molloy, will receive an honorary doctor of laws degree (LL.D.) during the ceremony. She currently works as the president and chief executive officer of The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company.

The village native joined Penn Mutual in 2008 as the company’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Now, as president and CEO, she oversees all of its day-to-day operations.

In addition to her position at Penn, McDonnell also serves as a national advisor to Vision 2020, a national project of the Drexel University College of Medicine Institute for Women’s Health and Leadership that focuses on advancing gender equality by supporting dialogue about women and leadership.
