Sophomore Dana Duggan has also seen time in net early in the 2014 campaign and made nine saves in the closely contested March 24 defeat to Hewlett.
With a thin roster of only 16, Dankenbrink expects contributions from many and stresses conditioning in practice so they can play an up-tempo game.
“Hopefully our fitness and conditioning will pay off,” said Dankenbrink. “Everyone is going to get to play.”
Seaford competes in Conference II during the regular season, a league that features Port Washington, Syosset, Hicksville, Hewlett, Baldwin, Friends Academy, Calhoun and Oyster Bay. In the playoffs, Seaford will vie for a championship in Class C, which Dankenbrink expects to be a tough competition between Cold Spring Harbor, Oyster Bay and Friends. Longtime Class C power North Shore has moved up to Class B this season.
“Every game is very tough,” said Dankenbrink, whose team’s upcoming schedule also includes non-league games against Lynbrook, Kellenberg and Holy Trinity. “Every game is a battle.”
