Despite temperatures that dipped into the teens on Friday afternoon, sledders from near and far took to the giant hill at the Town of Hempstead's Newbridge Road Park in south Bellmore for an afternoon of fun in the snow. Kids crowded onto the hill, blasting down slopes on snowboards and inner tubes.
Yes, a snowstorm that dumped an average of eight inches across the area snarled traffic during Friday’s commutes, but it made Bellmore-Merrick kids, who had the day off from school, very happy indeed. And the Herald Life was there to catch the action.
