Why did you choose to run for village trustee?

Ed Corrado, Pride Party:
For years my friends and neighbors have urged me to run for office because of my volunteer activities. To my great surprise and pleasure, the Pride Party approached me to run for trustee, stating my background and community involvement as their reason. I must admit that at first I was apprehensive: I knew only what I would like to do, not how to do it. However, they have not only been supportive but also have been preparing and coaching me.

Bob Klose, Freedom Party:
I was approach by Deputy Mayor Richard Meagher. He told me about his ideas, and how the village is currently being run. I liked his ideas and his way of running the village. I am someone who has lived in this town and knows what the residents want. Being a third-generation resident, and in talking to the resdients, I feel that I know what they want regarding their taxes and village services.

Harry Levitt, Freedom Party:
There hasn’t been representation on the village board for the Southwest area of East Rockaway in twelve years. I feel with my experience as president of the Lynbrook Chamber and Lynbrook’s BID, which I spearheaded, I would be a voice for the business community and address the concerns of the residents from my district.

Stanley Lombardo, Pride Party:
I was approached by many residents of the village to run because they were dissatisfied by the growth of village government, excessive spending on wasteful patronage, runaway property taxes, and the sense that under the prior administration village government was neglecting essential services. Some of these residents also felt that the leadership skills I displayed while volunteering would benefit our community.  It was not a decision I made over night. I am confident I made the right choice and can be a great asset to our community.
