Timberlake embarks on quest for LIRR couple

MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan said he was not aware of the proposal or that the LIRR was contacted prior to filming, but has asked train crews working on the Babylon line that night if they could identify the couple.

Since starting their hunt three weeks ago, Liu and McDaniel said they have traveled to every single stop on the Babylon line, including Rockville Centre, Merrick, Wantagh and Freeport, interviewing locals and posting flyers around these towns to solicit more information.

Liu described this collaborative and interactive project as a “unique piece of content,” relying on social media sites such as Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook to ask the public for help in a grassroots approach to developing a documentary disguised as a music video.

McDaniel added that this anonymous couple’s story serves as a testament to how music helps most people express themselves.

“The story itself touches people, much like music,” she said. “It’s just really nice because a lot of people get to see it [in the video].”
