Woodmere woman robbed in her Forest Avenue home

Jewelry and a wallet were allegedly taken from a woman in her Forest Avenue home in Woodmere on Aug. 22.

A Woodmere woman, 69, entered her Forest Avenue home through the garage entrance when she was grabbed from behind by a man and put in a chokehold at 2:12 p.m. on Aug. 22, according to police.
The man, who was possibly wearing a hooded shirt, demanded her jewelry and wallet, and she complied, police said, He fled on foot. No injuries were reported.
Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls are kept confidential.
