A trip back into prehistory

Levy-Lakeside students get firsthand look at dinosaur fossils

Posted

Students might take a trip to a natural history museum to check out dinosaur bones. Last week, the museum came to Levy-Lakeside Elementary School in Merrick when second-graders heard a presentation by Dinosaurs Rock owner Neil Brown.

Brown brought an array of fossils, ranging from 10,000 years old to millions of years old. The children also had the chance to dig around in replica fossil pits. The Levy-Lakeside PTA sponsored the event.
