The Dance Space student accepted to prestigious school

Jasmine Cerezo-Mounsey, 11, a student at The Dance Space in East Rockaway, was accepted into the Prestigious Philippa Schuyler Performance Arts School.

“Jazzy” has been training with The Dance Space staff since the age of three. She has been studying Ballet for eight years and tap for five years.

“We are so proud of Jasmine and her accomplishments,” said dance school director Lauren Quaranta. “She is a star! She did a great job.”

Philippa Schuyler Middle School for the Gifted and Talented is a New York City Department of Education Public Middle School. The school is located in the Bushwick part of Brooklyn. Admission to this school is by competitive examination — unlike many public Middle Schools in New York City. The school serves grades five through eight. It is noted for its academics and high scoring on standardized examinations. The school’s namesake is the child prodigy and pianist Philippa Schuyler, and is ranked one of the best middle schools in the city.
