D.A. seeks information in Freeport dog-abandonment case

Nassau District Attorney Kathleen Rice’s Animal Cruelty Unit is asking anyone with any information regarding an abandoned dog left on March 6, 2010 tied to a stop sign at the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and Rose Street in Freeport to please call the Tips Line at 516-680-8624. The dog is a white pit bull puppy (approximately four months old) that was found tied with a rope around neck to the stop sign pole. The dog was emaciated. Animal Cruelty investigators are asking anyone with any information about the dog to please call the tip line. All information may be kept confidential and anonymous. The dog was given veterinary care and was adopted. Anyone with information should contact the DA’s Office.
