The Valley Stream Baseball League wrapped up another season with its trophy day ceremony at Firemen’s Field on July 16. Players from all teams in the Sandlot, Slugger and Rookie divisions, which are for all the children age 8 and under, received trophies resembling miniature baseball mitts.

The league had more than 400 players for its 69th season consisting of 33 teams. Since Opening Day on April 30, games have been played all over Valley Stream including Firemen’s Field and several of the elementary schools.

The top teams from the Jeter and Wright divisions will be honored at the annual championship dinner in September.
