Arrest in stabbing at Valley Stream Burger King

Nassau County Police arrested an Elmont man in connection with a stabbing at the Valley Stream Burger King last Thursday evening and charged him with attempted murder.

According to police, a fight broke out at the West Merrick Road fast food restaurant at about 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 12. Police say that 24-year-old Charles Miller, of Empire Street, stabbed a 26-year-old man.

When police arrived, they found the victim with stab wounds to his neck, hands and leg. He was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

Miller was arrested following a brief struggle with officers. He was charged with second-degree attempted murder, fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest. He was arraigned in First District Court on Aug. 13.
