Artists in Partnership plays to LB SRO

There were several ‘firsts’ at the Long Beach Public Library Sunday, March 13: Artists in Partnership staged the first live performance at the library since the pandemic shut down stages two years ago. And the comedy show, “Four Funny Females,” was a first for the AIP.

The show was co-produced by MC and comic, Donna Moran, and AIP Executive Director, Johanna Mathieson-Ellmer, with funding from Bright Eye Beer Co. through the “Curtain-Up” initiative created to reopen, and support Broadway, regional and local stages.

Comediennes Donna Moran, Chit Chat Wheeler, Jean Kim, Peaches Rodriguez and special guest and Library employee, Julie Carrion each brought their own take on current events, relationships and the trials and tribulations that come with being female.

“Thanks to the tech skills of Jeannine Dillon and Tom Wojciechowski, the “sold-out” program was able to be viewed at home by those who were not able to attend, or were tuning in from out of town. We are so grateful to the Library Board and staff for their support and for making these events possible,” Mathieson-Ellmer said.
