America’s Irreplaceable Dance Treasures: The First 100
The exhibit showcases influential dance movements, institutions and individual artists who have shaped American dance. Gordon Cheung & Jonathan Seliger
An exhibition of two important contemporary artists. Gordon Cheung uses Financial Times stock listings in his multimedia paintings. His paintings are virtual-reality environments which comment on the ability of stock exchange numbers to deliver a “promised land” to people’s lives. Jonathan Seliger works with paint and canvas to produce three-dimensional structures. His works are included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Brooklyn Museum, among others. Through Jan. 3. Long Island Quilters Guild Exhibit

Norman Rockwell
An exhibit of Saturday Evening Post illustrator Norman Rockwell’s images that defined America and Americans, in this country and abroad. 50 Years Of Hofstra Radio 
The Hofstra Radio Alumni Association, with the School of Communications and WRHU (Radio Hofstra University), is hosting a celebration marking the 50th anniversary of Hofstra University’s radio station 88.7 FM, Friday through Sunday, Nov. 6-8. Varied activities are scheduled, including the Nov. 7 gala at the Huntington Hilton, where the HRAA, will induct a new Hofstra Radio Hall of Fame. Gilbert & Sullivan Yiddish Light Opera Company of L.I., is casting lead roles and chorus for Der Yiddisher Mikado.
