Police: Suspect opened four fraudulent accounts while working

A Springfield Gardens man is facing grand larceny and identity theft charges after police allege he used his position as an employee at AT&T to provide multiple smartphones for four unknown accomplices.

Anthony Wilson, 24, was arrested by detectives from the Nassau County Police Seventh Squad on Friday, Nov. 25. According to police, in August, he opened four fraudulent accounts for two unknown males and two unknown females, giving them a total of 15 iPhone 6s worth over $13,000.

Detectives arrested Wilson at the store after an extensive investigation, according to Det. Evans-Cox.

Wilson was charged with four counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, four counts of first-degree falsifying business records and four counts of first-degree identity theft.

He was scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 26 at Hempstead First District Court.
