Attempted robbery at Valley Stream 7-11

A 7-11 store in Valley Stream was held up early last Saturday morning, but the robber fled without any proceeds.

According to police, a masked gunman entered the store at 910 W. Merrick Road on June 19 at 1:40 a.m. The man, armed with a black handgun, ordered the clerk and all customers to get down on the floor.

After being shoved by one of the customers, the robber fled the store. He was seen entering the passenger side of a black four-door sedan, which headed north on Hook Creek Boulevard.

There were no injuries. The suspect is described as a black male, 40-48 years old, 6-foot-2 to 6-foot-3, 200 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPs.
