Bakery brings holiday joy to North Bellmore

Posted

The owners and staff of a North Bellmore bakery teamed up with none other than Santa Claus to bring holiday cheer to the community.

Jolly Old St. Nick stopped by A Taste of Home, at 1992 North Jerusalem Road, to have breakfast with local families throughout December. The last gathering was held on Dec. 20.

Families flocked to the bakery, which sits on the North Bellmore-East Meadow border, on five days throughout the month to meet and greet Father Christmas, snapping photos with Santa while enjoying a hot breakfast prepared at the eatery.

A Taste of Home is a family-owned and -operated bakery, café and sweet shop that offers cakes, desserts, breads, chocolates, bagels, ice cream and deli items. The store, owned by sisters Monica Tarantino and Rose Fuger, has been recognized with several awards in the 11 years that it has been open, and the owners noted that they continue to be involved in charitable activities supporting Island Harvest, United Cerebral Palsy, the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and the Kiwanis and Lions clubs.
